I have a question where should I go?The first place of reference should always be the Rules tab on the website. If you do not see your information there please look through the FAQs in the System Navigation or Commonly Asked Questions FAQ tabs to the right. If none of these options have answered your question please go to the contact us page or email support@matchpointmilwaukee.com.

I received a challenge, what do I do now?If you receive an email saying, “you have been challenged to a match”, you can click on the link in the email to accept or reject the challenge. You can find these challenges in the system under the “Challenges” page. If you “accept” (or “reject”) the match, an email will be sent to your opponent that you have accepted (or rejected). It is up to your opponent then to contact you about a time and place.
-
What should I do if my match doesn't show up or forfeits?Defaults (Forfeits) The Default box is checked when there is a “no show” or someone cancels the same day of play. Enter the scores 6-0, 6-0 and check the box. Total number of points a player can receive when receiving a default is 20 points. If you get injured or retire during a match and cannot complete the match, your opponent will complete the score by “winning” the rest of the match. Do NOT check the default box in this scenario.
-
How do I update my profile information? If you need to change any information in your profile, you can do this by clicking “User Profile” next to your name at the top of the screen when you are in the system. If you can’t remember your password, click Forgot your password at the Log In page, and it will be emailed to you.
-
How do I enter my scores?Once you choose “Accept” for a challenge or proposal, it will automatically place that match in the “Matches” page. When you complete your match, go to the “Matches” page and click on a player in that pending match to enter your scores. If you did not set up the match through the system, there will be no pending match, so you can click on “Add Match” and enter the information.
-
My match is missing or score is incorrect. What do I do?If match scores are wrong, you can go into the match to make the change. If there are duplicate matches, you can delete one. When viewing match scores, you will need to enter the week it was either challenged or played, but sometimes it’s easiest to just select “all” weeks for a particular player. The easiest way to see all of the matches you have played is to click on “All Mine” at the top of the Matches page. You can also click on “recently played matches” to see all the matches played recently.
-
How do I propose a match? If you have a certain day/time you wish to play, click on “Propose Match” (right above the ladder), enter the date, time and location, and click “Propose”. That will send an email to all players on the ladder. If you receive this message, and you would like to accept this proposal, go into the system, click on the “Proposals” page, and then click “accept”. That way everyone in the division can see that this match was accepted. Emails will be sent anytime anyone uses this function, but you can disable this function by checking the “No proposal emails” box in your profile. You would then use the proposal board only to check and accept matches. If you make a proposal, you will receive an email when it is accepted. Please Note: It is very important to enter the Proposal day/time accurately. Here is an example of what you should type if you would like to play on March 16 at 9:00am: 3/16 9:00am The year is optional. Do not use commas, periods, @ sign, brackets, or parentheses. If no time is specified or entered incorrectly, the system will default to 12:00am.
-
What is the difference between a challenge and a proposal?A challenge will request a match against one specific individual or team. Challenges can be used if you have a specific player you are looking to schedule a match against. If accepted you will then arrange a date, time and location with that opponent to play. A proposal will put a request out to all ladder members in your division. You will specify the date, time and location beforehand and anyone can accept the proposal. The easiest and most common match making process is using the proposal function.
-
I played a tiebreak for my third set, what score should I enter? If you played a 10 point tiebreaker for the match, please enter that set as “1-0”, NOT the actual point score in the tiebreak.
-
How do I challenge someone? There are many ways to initiate a challenge. Once you click on your division, you will see the ranking list (ladder) which will include one phone number and by clicking on a player, you can email that player (or obtain the email address). There is a challenge button next to the players’ names. If you click on that button, it will send an email to that individual player stating your direct challenge.
-
Why does it say 12:00am on all my proposals? You are entering the day/time incorrectly when trying to issue a challenge. Please refer to the instructions for the proper way.
-
How are points calculated?Points are calculated differently based on the winner and loser and depending on the player rankings. Winner Points (WP) If lower-ranked: 15 plus ((Difference in games in sets won times the Difference in rankings up to 7) divided by 2) If tied or consecutively-ranked: 20 plus Difference in games in sets won If higher-ranked: 10 plus Difference in games in sets won Loser Points (LP) Game points = Games won in all sets (maximum 10 points) The challenger receives an additional 2 points. The limit on the number of points the winner can get is 50. The maximum number of points for a default is 20.

Once I log into the system and click on the ladders, the system tells me that my “session expired”.This has something to do with how your computer is set up to accept “cookies”. For more information on this, please visit the website: http://www.sportsmatchsoftware.com/cookies.html. This also might have something to do with your computer’s day/time setting if incorrect.
-
Why doesn’t it say “Challenge” by my name on the ladder? You can’t challenge yourself so you don’t see that button.
-
After issuing a proposal, the Proposal board has a “cancel” next to it — has it been canceled?Only YOU see a “cancel” button next to your proposals because if you change your mind, you can cancel the proposal — you can only cancel your own proposals.
-
I proposed a match which was accepted, but I now need to cancel the match. How do I do that? The first thing you should do is contact your opponent that you need to cancel. If he/she doesn’t “unaccept” your proposal, go to the Matches page and “delete” the match. That will empty your proposal so someone else can accept it, so now you need to go to the Proposals page and cancel it.
-
After entering a match, the system shows a “delete” next to it — was the match deleted?Only YOU see a “delete” next to your own matches (and only YOUR matches) because if there is something wrong with the match, you have the option of deleting it and starting over, or if it is a duplicate match, you can delete it. If there is a small error, you can click on the match and make a change.
-
After accepting a proposal, it has an “unaccept” by the proposal — did I do something wrong? You have the option of unaccepting a proposal if you realize that you really can’t play that match. That way, the proposal will still be out there for someone else to accept. If you “unaccept” a proposal, you must let the challenger know right away so they know it’s open again.
-
The system shows that I have played 5 matches, but the rankings page shows that I have only played 3. Why is that? The system updates every Sunday night, so two of those matches must have been entered after Sunday.
